Jaclyn Specia Photography Studio is located at 501 Broadway St San Marcos, Texas. Learn more about the studio here.

What areas do you service?
Jaclyn Specia Photography services the San Marcos area. If you live in Austin, San Antonio, New Braunfels, Boerne, or any other nearby towns, definitely reach out!

How do I book a session?
It’s really easy to book a session with me!
Just fill out the Session Inquiry Form, and I will get you all set up!

How far ahead do I need to book?
I book typically 3-4 months ahead, and even sooner during the Christmas season. If you are expecting, I highly suggest booking as early as possible to ensure availability. I do maternity sessions between 28-36 weeks of pregnancy, and newborn sessions are best done when baby is between 8-14 days. Standard time frame when people reach out to me is during the second trimester of your pregnancy.

How do I pay?

A non-refundable session fee is due at booking to reserve your spot. You will receive an invoice upon booking and a contract/questionnaire. Both are required in 48 hours. Your payment for digital collections and products is due at your view and order appointment.

Does my session fee go towards my package?

No, it does not.

Does my newborn and maternity session fee include professional make-up and hair?

Yes!

What is the average investment?

The average depends on what you love! Packages start at $800

Many of my clients invest 1500-3000+ and get products and digitals!

What COVID precautions are you taking?

Your safety is my main priority. I am vaccinated! Please click here to see all precautions I’m taking to keep all my sessions safe.

Who is your clientele?
My client can really be anyone, but specifically, its someone that’s looking for images they can love for generations. My services are not for people who want something quick and simple, but rather people who are enthusiastic about an in-depth process resulting in beautiful heirloom artwork.

What is your style like?
My style is classic, timeless, and organic. I stay true to natural tones and coloring.

What should we wear to our session?
More than any other question, my clients always ask me what they should wear to their session. Coordinating your family outfits can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be! My goal is to create images where the background, clients, and clothing selections compliment each other instead of compete for attention.
If you’re stumped trying to coordinate your outfits, don’t worry! I am always here to help. I encourage my clients to text photos of potential outfits if they get stuck because ultimately its my job to know what looks best in images. For images where mom is included, I also provide access to my studio wardrobe for mama’s to be, family sessions, and little girls sizes 2-5T.

Where does our session take place?
Newborn sessions are only done at the studio. This is because all of the props and lighting I use are just too big and bulky to take with me.
Family sessions are done almost exclusively on location. The location we pick for your session will be unique to you and your family’s style. I also offer the ability to do half studio and half on location for an additional fee.

Does the session fee include any products or digitals?
The session fee does not include any products or digital files. The fee covers my time, talent and expertise, an in-person design and planning consultation, the session, post-processing, travel time, and an in-person viewing & ordering appointment. All images and artwork are purchased separately.

What types of products do you offer?
I specialize in providing my clients with finished heirloom artwork. This comes in the form of several wall art options that can all be hung as soon as you receive them, albums that are beautiful enough to remain out on your coffee table all year round. I pride myself on quality USA made products. All of my products are heirloom quality and are made to be passed down for generations. {SEE MORE HERE}
I invite you to set up an in person consultation so that you can view samples of all the products I offer and check out the amazing quality for yourself!

Do you offer digital files?
Yes, I have digital only collections as well as my collections that include both product and digitals.

How long does a session last?
An outdoor or in studio session is typically 1 – 1 1/2 hours. A newborn session is 2-3 hours. These times, however, are not set in stone and will be adjusted accordingly to fit your needs.

How many photos do we get in a session?
I will present 30-50 images in your viewing gallery at your ordering appointment. These are the images that have met my standards in the quality of images that I am capable of producing. The images on the Reveal Wall are fully edited so that you can see what your finished images will look like.
Once you decide which images you would like to purchase, then those images go into production to be fully edited before your artwork is ordered.

Can I keep the images from my session private?
All clients sign a model release before the session. If you prefer to keep your images private, you may indicate your request at that time.
For clients who choose to decline the model release, we absolutely respect your decision and will keep your images under lock and key.

What is your technique with kids?
If your child likes to run around, so will I! It’s the best way to capture their personalities!
I use all kinds of techniques to get the littles to work with me such as peek-a-boo, singing songs, high fives, and making silly faces. I am not above jumping around like a crazy person to get your stubborn toddler to smile! The more I get everyone laughing, the more fun they have, and the more real connection and joy I get in the images.

How long does it take to receive our images?
Your in-person viewing and ordering appointment is usually scheduled about 1 week after your session. Once your order is paid in full, it takes 4-6 weeks to get your artwork, depending on what you order. This is because we only use portrait products from the best professional labs in the nation. But I promise, it’s worth the wait when you discover your beautiful, custom pieces of art featuring your loved ones. It truly is a magical moment and probably my favorite of the whole process!

Can we use the poses I found off Pinterest during my session?
Pinterest is such a great place for inspiration! With boutique photography, though, I do enjoy creating unique images for you!
I strive to make each session I do unique. Part of you hiring me as your story teller is that I promise to create images that best show YOU off,
and I do this on an individual basis based on each family’s dynamic connection. This way, I produce images that are sincere and not contrived!
You are welcome to show me your Pinterest inspirations, and together we will make your inspiration come to life.
