When is the best time to book my newborn session?
The best time to book your newborn session is when you are 12-20 weeks along. This is also a good time to secure your maternity session.
If you only have one spot left for my due date month how does that work since we don't know when baby will be here?
Once your session fee is paid you have a guaranteed spot no matter when baby decides to arrive.
Do I get professional hair and ,makeup for my newborn session?
Of course! We know getting ready can already be a daunting task and with a new baby it's even harder. You will start in hair and makeup to get the full pamper experience while I photograph your precious baby. When you are done we will begin the family portion of your session.
Do you book up fast for newborn session?
Yes! As soon as you're in the perfect window to book, grab your spot! I book 2-3 months in advance and only have 5-8 spots available depending on the month. Holiday months get booked up even further in advance!
* MY MOST ASKED QUESTION- oh no! What if my baby poops or pees on something?
I cannot stress this enough. When working with infants, these accidents happen and I handle them with ease. I'm usually laughing because some of these messes can be extravagant haha. All props, backdrop, and wraps that are used are washed after each session so their is no worries AT ALL!
Do I have to bring anything for the shoot?
Unless you want a special item photographed, all you have to bring is baby and their essentials. I have everything set up based on your questionnaire, so all you have to do is walk into a warm studio.
Newborn Session Faq
The first step to finding if we are the best fit is filling out my contact form! From here I will explain the whole session process and everything I have to offer to you. I love providing everything for each of your sessions. My goal is to make your life as stress-free as possible :
1. Say Hello
Once you've heard the amazing experience you're going to have and how everything works it is time to pick if you want just a newborn session or a maternity session as well. My most popular package is my belly to baby session that includes both sessions, all the dresses, baby props/accessories, and professional hair and makeup for each session.
2. session fee
Once your session fee is paid you will be sent your "Welcome Email." This email has all the details for your session including a copy of the investment guide, questionnaire, and contract. You're questionnaire is where you can let me know all your colors, anything I should know, and what you would like to see at you're dream session. Once I have received your questionnaire forms we will schedule a date when baby arrives, Babies can come at any time so once you're booked your guaranteed a spot no matter when baby decides to arrive!
3. Planning it
Newborn sessions are one of my favorites. I love providing my clients with a clean and calming environment for baby's first pictures. When you walk in I will greet you at the door and lead you back to my warm cozy studio. From there, we will get baby out and ready for their first set ups or a top off feeding if needed, Next I'lll have you head over to our hair and makeup room where you will be pampered while I take care of your precious little one. Newborn sessions take about 2-3 hours depending on baby. I will follow your baby's lead so that time allows for feeding, cuddles, and changes. Your partner is welcome to come hang out with me, but the door is always open if you want to be in and out. When hair and makeup is done you are welcome to come sit on my cozy couch and watch the magic happen. After baby's individuals we will end with family pictures. After we are all done with pictures don't feel like you have to rush out. My whole day is dedicated to your session and your family. You can take your time to pack up your things or do a last feeding before heading home,
4. Your Session
Your session is done and now you can't wait to see your beautiful gallery! We will schedule a reveal appointment for you to come in and see all your beautiful images . We will start with a slideshow of all the images and then you will be able to choose your favorites! It can be an emotional process for everyone in the room. I love watching my client 's sweet reaction. You may even cry and that's okay tissues are on stand by haha. I even get choked up sometimes!
5. gallery reveal/product delivery
Your session fee is the only payment due to hold your spot on my calendar. Your session fee includes the time and talent of your photographer, styling of your session, props and wardrobe for the duration of your session, your viewing and ordering appointment approximately 1 week after your session takes place, professional retouching of your images, and hand delivery of your products to your home if needed. A session fee and signed contract are required to secure your session. Session fee payments are non-refundable and are required to book your session.
